Flying Wing放飞·翼乘

An eight-metre white birdcage stands outdoors, open for visitors to enter. Looking up from its centre reveals a composition of circle and square; a human figure stands above the structure. The visitor’s presence activates the question of who, or what, constitutes the artwork.八米高的白色鸟笼置于户外，向参观者开放。站在中心仰望，可以看到天圆地方的构成；顶部的人形结构将“人”放在作品的关键位置。观者的进入，让“谁是作品”成为亲身经历的问题。

Created for the 2008 Beijing 798 Art Festival, Flying Wing belongs to the Homage to Duchamp series. A broken urinal and a hammer inside the cage turn the history of the readymade into a question that can be encountered physically.《放飞·翼乘》受邀参加 2008 年北京 798 艺术节，是《向杜尚致意》系列的重要作品。鸟笼中的破损小便池与铁锤，将现成品艺术的历史变成可以亲身遭遇的提问。

Live video formed part of the original installation. A camera recorded activity inside the work and relayed it into another exhibition space. The physical encounter and its mediated image extended one another.实时影像一直是原作的一部分。摄像机记录装置中的活动，并在另一展览空间同步呈现。现场相遇与媒介影像彼此延伸。

Flying Wing was exhibited at Beijing 798 from 2008 to 2014. In 2015 it entered the collection of Shanghai’s Moon Lake Sculpture Park.《放飞·翼乘》于 2008 至 2014 年在北京 798 展出，自 2015 年起由上海月湖雕塑公园收藏。
