The catalogue connects the series to Zhuangzi’s Free and Easy Wandering and to the Heavenly Bamboo paintings. A brushstroke can suggest a bamboo leaf and, in another reading, a wing. Two small eyes turn a mark of ink into a fish. Cloud, water and blank paper allow these figures to share a space. The paintings invite a change of perspective: to look with the fish, to travel with the bird, and to notice how the same surroundings can hold different experiences.云、水与纸上的留白，让鱼与鸟在同一片天地中相遇。观看时，可以试着从小鱼的位置仰望，也可以随着鹏鸟远行，感受同一环境如何容纳不同的生命经验。

In the catalogue’s New Ink Wash declaration, water and ink carry aesthetic and philosophical meaning.
